January 27 - 28:
Dubai Cup of Securitisation
by Information Management Network
in Dubai, U.A.E.
As Western financial institutions continue to expand into Islamic areas, there is a growing need to integrate traditional Western business models and Islamic Shari'ah law. There are several issues to consider when considering melding these often disparate models. The Dubai Cup promises to analyze Shari'ah principles and develop a cooperative and consistent framework for conducting securitization transactions in the region. BSEC has signed on as lead sponsor, and the event is being presented with support from the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group.
Sessions such as How is the Global Credit Crisis Affecting Securitisation in the Middle East?; Comparing the Middle East with Other Emerging Markets; and issuers', investors', and Shari'ah scholars' roundtables will be of great interest for local and international guests alike.
